In October 2012, a small group of fitness enthusiasts gathered in Mumbai with a bold vision: to create India's premier functional fitness competition. With 250 brave athletes and a single venue, Mr Fit Games was born. What started as a local event would grow into a nationwide movement.

THE BEGINNING

A Dream Takes Shape

It started with a simple question: "Why doesn't India have a functional fitness competition?" A group of gym owners and coaches came together with a shared vision—to create a platform that would test and celebrate fitness in all its forms.

With minimal resources but maximum passion, they organized the first Mr Fit Games in a warehouse in Mumbai. The three workouts were simple but brutal: a heavy deadlift ladder, a gymnastics chipper, and a classic "Fran" workout that left even the fittest gasping.

Kavita Rao: The First Champion

"People told me women shouldn't lift heavy weights," Kavita recalls. "On that day, I proved them wrong." Her victory in the first-ever Mr Fit Games wasn't just personal—it was a statement that would echo through Indian fitness for years to come.

Kavita's performance, including a 180-pound deadlift and consecutive muscle-ups, showed that women could compete at the highest levels. Today, she coaches the next generation of female athletes, many of whom cite her 2012 victory as their inspiration.
